Mark Teixeira came back to Texas today for the first time since he was traded. He obviously wasn't wearing the same uniform that he is on card number T169 of the 2002 Topps Traded set.
Not surprisingly, he was booed when he made his first appearance. I don't advocate booing former players all the time. I have to admit though that I probably would have booed some had I been in the stands this evening. Nothing nasty, just enough to let Mark know that some fans haven't forgotten his parting words.
What is the proper reaction to a returning player on a different team? Do the circumstances of the parting matter? What about the individual player's actions and statements? Should they play a role?
