Today could be the day after the Rangers clinch the American League West title. That is, if they have won the past two days against the A's. If they did clinch last night I should be doing a post celebrating that. Instead you are getting a Senators Saturday post because this post is pre-scheduled.
Actually this is a pseudo-Senators Saturday post. Ray Semproch appears on card number 174 of the 1961 Topps set. He didn't appear at all in a Senators' uniform in 1961, or any other year for that matter.
On November 28, 1960 the Senators drafted Ray from the Dodgers in the Rule 5 draft. They kept him until April 7, 1961 when they sold him to the Angels. With that transaction Semproch was out of Washington without ever appearing in an official Major League game. Just two appearances later he would be out of the Major Leagues for good.
