Double ouch!

Coming on the heels of Michael Young's broken finger, Texas announced that Hank Blalock is back on the disabled list. This after playing only nine games. More shoulder problems it appears.

Hank, seen here on card number 20 of the 2004 Skybox Autographics set, seems like a nice guy. I have been impressed with his put the team first attitude. Having said that, the frequent injuries are not good news. While not his fault, they are bringing many doubts as to the Rangers picking up Hank's contract option in 2009. I would like to see him be able to hold it together but it is looking less and less likely the further we go.

To add salt to the wound, Detroit dealt Ivan Rodriguez to the Yankees today. Pudge had to waive his no-trade clause. Very discouraging. At least he is a free agent at the end of the year. Hopefully after two months in the belly of the beast he can make good his escape.
